Atlantis Casino brings Dogfish Head Brewery Dinner to Reno

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa welcomes Dogfish Head Brewery to Bistro Napa on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. Dogfish Head, located out of Milton, Delaware, is known for its beer with unique ingredients and quirky names. Established in 1995, Dogfish Head was Delaware’s first brewpub and smallest commercial brewery in America. The popularity of the beer grew, and is well-known in the craft beer industry.

Using the unique flavor profiles of the beer, Atlantis Food and Beverage created a menu that perfectly complements the beer. Guests can enjoy brews such as Midas Touch, one of Dogfish Head’s most popular beers, made with ingredients found in 2,700 year old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas, with cuisine such as Pan Roasted Branzino.

Dogfish Head also invented brewing techniques like continuous hopping in their 60, 75, 90 and 120-minute India Pale Ales. In this technique, rather than dropping hops into the beer at various intervals, Dogfish Head pours hops into the beer for the entire time, which achieves a multi-layered and smoother hop profile in the beer. Dogfish Head releases a limited number of 120-minute IPA bottles each year and they recommend beer geeks age them to take off the edge. The 75 Minute IPA comes in large 750 ml bottles and uses the same method. When Sam Calagione first made 120-minute IPA, he used an electronic football game to vibrate the hops slowly into the brew. Similarly, he invented a “Me So Hoppy” dry hopping machine of his own design.
